GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Camelback Moving is committed to making a difference in our community. Though established partnerships we are able to provide in-kind services of moving and storage as well as facilitate the donation of household goods from our customers to organizations in need. If you have unwanted clothes, dishes, furniture or appliances please consider contacting us as we can often pick up and deliver these goods at no cost.

If your charity has a need that may fit with our services feel free to contact us to discuss future partnerships and how we may be of service.

Toy Drive

The story of Our Toy Drive…
The idea of a toy drive originated in 2021 when Jaime Kalnicky and the Ice Denette Synchronized Skating Team were inspired to give back in the form of a toy drive. Utilizing their many skaters for collection and her contacts on the reservation in northeastern Arizona, she reached out to Camelback Moving and me for logistics and delivery support. Her timing was perfect, as my company was actually looking for a toy drive to partner with and devote time and resources to. The result was larger than anyone expected and an enormous success as we were able to deliver 645 total gifts to a community really in need.

In the three following years the drive has grown bigger and better, now including much needed clothing and furniture. We expanded our corporate partnerships to assist in collection efforts. Our partnership with Glenda Wheeler with Black Mountain Rescue as a distribution partner has brought the drive to communities across the reservation when the need was the greatest. This also included relief efforts in the form of four large trucks of donation furniture to Chinle Arizona after flooding in 2023.

This year’s results were by far the best yet. The two trucks of toys and clothing alone nearly filled the gymnasium at Tonalea Day School and served 764 individuals. The amount of furniture donation was so great that they had to be delivered a few days later and was also the equivalent of two large box trucks.

I’m so grateful to be in a position to give back in this manner and impressed by the generosity of our clients, friends, families, partners and the community here in the valley. Seeing the results with Jaime, Glenda’s team and school officials this year filled my heart. Here’s a short video with just some of the highlights.

Donation Drive For Chinle Flood Victims

Camelback Moving held a donation drive in partnership with Glenda Wheeler to support families affected by floods in the community of Chinle in Northern Arizona. On April 23rd Chinle suffered serious flooding and subsequent damages. Due to limited resources and available aid, they are still struggling to recover. Camelback Moving delivered 2 runs of donations to benefit the flood victims in the Chinle area! Thank you for everyone who contributed with goods and to the go-fund-me as we were able to deliver (4) 26 foot trucks of goods throughout July and August. A huge shout out to our partners Glenda Wheeler and Dzil Yi Jiin Rescue for bringing this cause to our attention and organizing the distribution of goods.

Billy’s Place 10th Annual Hike For Hope

On Saturday, April 1st Camelback Moving proudly donated $20,000 to Billy’s Place for their 10th annual Hike for Hope fundraiser. Billy’s Place is a local nonprofit that aims to provide support to children and their families through their grief journey.

The organizations connected after Camelback Moving’s President Chad Olsen pledged to pay an NBA fine for Phoenix Suns Head Coach Monty Williams or make a like-sized donation to a charity. After seeing the viral Twitter post, Kim Humphrey with Billy’s Place, a Suns Charities recipient, reached out as they were just days away from their largest annual fundraiser, Hike for Hope. Camelback Moving was honored to participate and present the $20,000 donation to Billy’s Place to continue doing the amazing work they do in our communities.

This unexpected and generous donation from Camelback Moving helped us surpass our fundraising goal! When Chad and I connected, he immediately saw the importance of our mission and knew he wanted to make an impact. Partners like Camelback Moving make it possible for Billy’s Place to continue to support kids and families experiencing grief and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership. We are so grateful!!” -Kim Humphrey, Billy’s Place

We support Monty and the Suns but more importantly we support local charities making a difference in our communities an believe in giving back.” -Chad Olsen, President of Camelback Moving

St. Mary’s Food Bank & Move For Hunger

Camelback Moving was pleased to have been able to make donations to St. Mary’s Food Bank and Move For Hunger as a part of the food drive organized by AZMA with Move For Hunger. We’re thrilled to know the donation Camelback Moving made will cover 35,000 meals for those in need! We love supporting causes that greatly impact our area…and this money will be put to good use to help feed those suffering from food scarcity.

The White Dove Thrift Shoppes

The White Dove Thrift Shoppes support Hospice of the Valley’s mission—bringing comfort and dignity as life nears its end. Sale proceeds fund many specialized and innovative patient-care programs and help lower the cost of charity care.

“Hospice of the Valley was so great with my father Jimmy a few years back, that we jumped at the opportunity to partner with them. Through the pandemic, proceeds were raised by moving, warehousing and liquidating donation furniture we received from our wonderful customers. Feeling blessed to give back to this great organization and help complete the karmic circle that goes round and round.” – Chad Olsen, President Camelback Moving

Pre/post pandemic – the partnership we have established is a great fit as they are able to accept large amounts of donation furniture and household goods. These are either donations directly from Camelback Moving, our vendors or our customers that wish to give to this wonderful cause. The goods are sold at the many White Dove Thrift Shoppes across the valley with the proceeds going to fund the organization.

“So grateful to Camelback Moving! President Chad Olsen presented Hospice of the Valley with a BIG check to support our charity care programs. His awesome company auctioned off items that could not be accepted by our The White Dove Thrift Shoppes during the pandemic, and generously donated the proceeds! #rockstarcompany #communitycaring”

– Lin Sue Cooney, Director of Community Engagement at Hospice of the Valley
